about

Even though it may seem so at first glance, "Back With A Vengeance" by MASTERS OF DISGUISE is NOT copying the legendary past of Savage Grace, the speed metal legends whose name can still be seen on patches on the jackets of one in three metal fans. No, MASTERS OF DISGUISE fills the musical gap, which Savage Grace left behind them, and they do it brilliantly with incredible self-assurance. "Back With A Vengeance" is a furious firework of speed and power, topped with a decent portion of melodies taking their talents to their musical limits. Behind MASTERS OF DISGUISE are established musicians, conscious of their status and for whom it is a matter of honour to deliver an album such as this. "Back With A Vengeance" will shake up the speed metal community and will easily draw the fans into their path.

So how did this potential speed metal classic come about? When Savage Grace mastermind Chris Logue planned a reunion of his band in 2009, the band which had set a milestone in US speed metal with the album "Master of Disguise", he had to face the fact that he was unable to get any of the original members to join him. It was tragic but the cries from the voices of countless fans in Europe for a reunion became louder and louder. So Chris Logue fell back on Plan B. Thanks to recommendations he came into contact with the NWOBHM tribute band Roxxcalibur and he promptly signed up all the band's instrumentalists as members of his new line-up. They went on a European tour with Omen and also gave successful shows at the Bang Your Head and the Keep It True festival. But after that, despite the plans for a new Savage Grace album for which he had already written new material, Chris Logue left Europe and has not been seen or heard from since.

The band members, no longer under contract soon decided to continue in the style of Savage Grace under a new name. The result, "Back With A Vengeance" is definitely not a Savage Grace copy, despite the fact that the cover versions of "Scepters Of Deceit" (the original having been released on the legendary "Metal Massacre II" sampler) and "The Templars' Gold", written by Chris Logue in 2010, blend perfectly into the band's own song material.

Together with the costly, professional and provocative video clip of "For Now And All Time (Knutson's Return)", named after the cop on the cover of the Savage Grace LP "Master Of Disguise", who has been unleashed again after all these years, Masters of Disguise and their debut CD will burst onto the metal scene with a loud bang.
